Scientists studying perception are concerned with how information processing systems, be they biological or artificial, acquire and process sensory data to learn about the world around them. At Penn, this broad topic is studied using a wide variety of experimental and theoretical approaches. Faculty and students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Medical School, and the School of Arts and Sciences all contribute to Penn's research efforts in this area.
