Research Interests
In the philosophy of psychology, I work on the structure of
psychology as a science of mind, the forms of explanation in theories of
vision, and the status of qualia and the mind-body problem. In the
history of philosophy, I work on metaphysics, epistemology, and science in
early modern philosophy from Descartes and Kant, and on the historical relations
of philosophy and psychology. In the history of psychology, I work on
the origin of naturalistic theories of the mind, the development of
psychology as a natural science, and the history of theories of vision.
